Kavana began with a simple longing — to return to a slower, greener way of life. After decades in the city, we found ourselves drawn back to the kind of childhood we remembered: open spaces, fresh food, animals, quiet mornings and a life closer to nature. In 2018, that dream took shape with a small organic dairy farm in Wayanad, followed by our experiments with farming. Soon, we imagined a place nearby where we could share this way of life with others. That idea became Kavana — a home created with care, shaped by our memories, and opened for families and friends to slow down, reconnect and make memories of their own.
At Kavana, we believe a beautiful stay should leave behind memories — not a heavy footprint. Our aim is to preserve the greenery, fresh air and natural rhythm of the place while offering a warm, comfortable stay. We do this through thoughtful choices such as reducing unnecessary energy use, avoiding plastics, harvesting rainwater, using local resources and managing waste responsibly. We are still learning and improving, one small step at a time. More than anything, we want Kavana to be a place where guests can slow down, live a little more consciously and experience the simple joy of being close to nature.
